I recently read a quote that says “Our eyes are placed in front because it’s more important to look ahead than to look back.”
This year is almost over and with that comes the anticipation and excitement of the New Year. Starting January 1, many people will make promises to themselves called “New Year’s resolutions,” and these normally don’t last through the month of January. In fact, studies show that 80% of resolutions fail by February.
Instead of making false promises in 2018, make goals. Work your plans around those goals to ensure success. If your goal is service more funerals in 2018, ask yourself, “How can I reach that goal?” Here’s a tip: crossing your fingers and hoping for the best is not a good answer. Thoughtful ideas might be to advertise more or join a local civic organization.
If your goal is to sell more insurance, ask yourself, “How many people do I need to see to make the money I want to make?” As you prepare for success in the New Year, we at Security National Life, would love to partner with you to help reach your goals. We have goals of our own for the New Year, we want to grow by at least 20% in new sales and 5% premium collections. We know that is not going to happen, as previously mentioned, by accident or by crossing our fingers. I realize that—as with anything worth having—it is going to take preparation and a lot of hard work. However, with agents like yourselves, it will happen!
